Third Siteman satellite location opens in South County
Siteman Cancer Center opens a 37,000-square foot South County outpatient office at Interstate 55 and Butler Hill Road to provide service to cancer patients

The Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine has added a third satellite location to provide community-based multidisciplinary cancer care in the St. Louis region.
Siteman Cancer Center-South County opened in early January in south St. Louis County, about 20 miles from Siteman’s main campus in the city of St. Louis. Siteman also operates satellite cancer centers in west St. Louis County and neighboring St. Charles County.
“As the largest provider of cancer care in the region, Siteman often attracts patients who travel long distances to be treated,” says Siteman director Timothy Eberlein, MD. “Our satellite locations allow patients to see Washington University physicians and receive care closer to their homes and families.”
Overall, Siteman treats more than 8,000 newly diagnosed cancer patients each year. An analysis prior to construction showed about 850 of these patients live in the area near the new center, which serves communities south of St. Louis in Missouri and in southern Illinois.
The 37,000-square-foot outpatient center provides physician consultations, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and access to clinical trials, as well as on-site laboratory and retail pharmacy services. Plans call for the construction of a healing garden on the grounds.
Bruce Roth, MD, who specializes in genitourinary cancer, is the center’s director of medical oncology. Parag Parikh, MD, who specializes in gastrointestinal and thoracic cancer, is director of radiation oncology.
